Summary About the position: This position will be located on Buckley Space Force Base at either A-Basin or Crested Butte Child Development Center. Pay will be set based on experience and education and/or certification: Target Level: $21.40 Intermediate Level: $19.82 Entry Level: $18.70 Thank you for considering employment with Air Force Services Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) at Buckley SFB, Aurora, Colorado. Buckley SFB's host unit, Buckley Garrison, falls under the direction of the United States Space Force. It is responsible for day-to-day support to the operational mission of the Space Delta 4 Missile Warning Delta. Buckley Garrison and DEL 4 directly support Combatant Commands across the globe. Buckley SFB truly represents a joint, Total Force and coalition base. This includes 3,100 active duty members from every service, 4,000 National Guard personnel and Reservists, four commonwealth international partners, 2,400 civilians, 2,500 contractors, 36,000 retirees and approximately 40,000 veterans and dependents. The base contributes an estimated $1 billion annually to the local economy. Located on the doorstep of the Rocky Mountains, Buckley Garrison is in Aurora, Colorado, a suburb just outside of Denver. The city of Aurora is the 3rd largest and most diverse city in Colorado and the 54th largest city in the United States. There are many retired and military families within the nearby community with veterans making up 9% of the total population. Those relocating here will find a wealth of outdoor activities within easy reach and fabulous sunny days.Major Duties: CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ALL LEVELS): The incumbent will serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more child and youth programs and will be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Provides care/supervision, oversight and accountability for program participants. Assists in preparing age appropriate activities; supervises children and youth during indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events; arranges and serves snacks/meals. Executes work in accordance with policies and regulations. May be required to transport children in government vehicles. CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (TARGET LEVEL): Coordinates and conducts activities for children and/or youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years. Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Implements program options for children and youth with special requirements. Demonstrates, instructs, leads and facilitates planned and spontaneous program activities. Briefs staff, management, and parents on activities. Conducts inventory on equipment and supplies. CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL): Assists in planning, coordinating and conducting activities for program participants. Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Implements daily schedules and activity plans to ensure age/stage appropriateness. Briefs staff, management, and parents on activities. Conducts inventory on equipment and supplies. CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ENTRY LEVEL): Performs simple routine tasks following step-by-step instructions. Assists in providing planned activities using prepared curriculum and program materials. Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Generates a list of needed supplies and equipment. Attends to the physical needs of the children, as applicable.
