Summary This position is located at the Rock Island Arsenal Child Development Center. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: At least 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Eligible applicants who apply on or before May 5th may be sent first for consideration. This announcement may be used to fill positions across the CYS program in different facilities and age groups. Referrals will be based on the preferences you indicate in the application process.Major Duties: Serves as a CYS Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising CYS direct care staff (minimum of 8 ratios of children in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth. Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements. provides program oversight and accountability. Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing to ensure children are supervised at all times. Assists with recruitment and selection of caregiving staff utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions. Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required. Ensures timely submission of personnel actions. Assists directors and training specialist to plan, coordinate, and implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of children and youth. Acts as Assistant Director or Director in their absence up to 20% of the time. May work in additional CYS facilities for the purposes of providing management oversight for evening or weekend openings.
