Training Technician (Live Fire/Ground Controller)

Summary About the Position: Position serves as Ground Controller and liaison to the Air Traffic Controller and unit exercise commander for the execution of training operations. Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.Major Duties: Approve exercise scheduling and conduct pre-exercise execution checks and coordination. Monitor, evaluate and disseminate information regarding the execution of each phase of each exercise via radar and voice communication systems. Direct range and environmental inspectors to range areas requiring inspection, survey or assessment. Assist in coordinating response to and providing information concerning reportable accidents and incidents.
