Teacher Supervisor (Supervisor of Education)

Summary Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. Major Duties: Responsible for the organization, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the following types of education programs: Adult Continuing Education, Literacy, General Education Development, English as a Second Language, parenting education, special learning needs programs, release readiness, and leisure library and law library. Responsible for a comprehensive recreation/physical education program and life skills program. Determines program needs for the total inmate population and is responsible for monitoring the range of programs in both education and/or recreation areas. Establishes, monitors and maintains management information systems and use of the data to report on program performance and plans for program adjustments. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
