Term Elementary Resource Teacher-Juniper School

 The ideal candidate will have:------------------------------------------------------------- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.- Resource Teacher Certificate or willingness to work towards such certification.- Experience preparing Student Specific Plans and related document will be considered an asset.- Experience doing extensive assessments to help design student programming.- Experience supporting students that have additional needs, alternative programming and an understanding ofprogramming criteria will be considered an asset.- Familiar with Standards for Appropriate Educational Programming in Manitoba.- Have a working knowledge of diverse abilities, including strengths, challenges and possible strategies to usewith students that have a range of diagnoses.- Design, implement and evaluate instructional programs that enhance personal development and increase thegeneral quality of life.- Knowledge of K-12 Manitoba Curriculum and cross-curricular planning.- Ability to work well with teachers/educational assistants in a collaborative and consultative environment.- Strong leadership abilities; demonstrated professional commitment and above average interpersonal skills.- Ability to work cooperatively as part of an educational team.- Excellent classroom management skills.- A commitment to culturally proficient education.- Demonstrated ability and experience in the differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all learners.- Ability to build program with a northern perspective.- A knowledge and sensitivity to the traditions and aspirations of students with diverse abilities and backgrounds. Inquiries can be directed to Lucy Mayor, Principal Juniper School at 204-677-6242.
