 NORTHERN NISHNAWBE EDUCATION COUNCIL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY WAHSA TEACHER (Starting August 2026)WAHSA DISTANCE EDUCATION CENTRESioux Lookout, ON Wahsa Distance Education Centre is operated by the Northern Nishnawbe Education Council under the direction of District Area Chiefs and First Nation communities.  Wahsa provides secondary education services to northern communities across the Sioux Lookout District by SMARTBoard/Bridget software and Independent Learning courses. Wahsa develops, delivers, and co-ordinates courses, training and support services in consultation with participating First Nations. Students receive instruction, instructional packages, tutoring, and academic and personal counseling through local and central support systems. QUALIFICATIONS: Special consideration given to candidates with Intermediate/Senior qualificationsMember in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)Experience teaching First Nation students an assetComputer literacyA sensitivity to and understanding of First Nations culture and traditionsMust be legally eligible to work in Canada POSITION:                   Permanent/Full-time SALARY :           Based on QECO rating (Years 0 to 11) as follows:                             A1 - $54,280 - $89,063A2 - $56,513 - $95,029A3 - $60,967 - $102,973A4 - $63,862 - $109,533All staff are compensated 13 weeks of vacation either with vacation days,              monetary compensation or a combination of both   **NNEC thanks all applicants in advance; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
