French Immersion Teacher (Middle Years)

The ideal candidate will have:* A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.* Demonstrated ability to program & teach all academic subjects in middle years French Immersion classroom.* Fluent bilingualism in French and English, with strong reading, writing and speaking skills in both languages.* A strong academic background and previous successful French Immersion teaching experience at the middle years level.* Competency in the instruction & assessment of provincial French Immersion curricula.* An understanding of the importance of learning French as a second language.* Knowledge of K-8 Manitoba Curriculum and cross curricular planning.* Ability to work well with teachers in a collaborative environment.* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.* Demonstrated ability and experience in the differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all learners.* A knowledge and sensitivity to the traditions and aspirations of students with diverse abilities and backgrounds.* A commitment to culturally proficient education.* Ability to build a program with a northern perspective.
