Reporting to the Junior School Principal or designate, the Junior School Classroom Teacher position will commence on August 27, 2026.Key Duties and Responsibilities*These may include, but are not limited to… Work collaboratively with colleagues to design and support an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning programme aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP);Build caring, respectful, and trusting relationships with students and families, recognizing the importance of partnership in learning;Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing, voice, and mutual respect;Integrate purposeful and age-appropriate technology to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement;Actively participate in ongoing professional learning related to the International Baccalaureate, the Primary Years Programme, and other school-based initiatives;Design, prepare, and deliver meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and authentic engagement;Select and adapt instructional strategies, resources, and learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of learners;Design and implement a range of authentic assessments that inform instruction, support student growth, and provide timely, clear feedback to students and families;Maintain accurate, current, and comprehensive records of student learning and progress for teaching, assessment, and reporting purposes;Communicate regularly and effectively with parents through reports, conferences, and ongoing dialogue to foster transparent and supportive relationships;Work collaboratively, professionally, and positively with all members of the school’s leadership team to support student learning, staff growth, and whole-school initiatives;Model professionalism, collaboration, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement in all interactions with colleagues, students, and families;Contribute actively to the life of the school by participating in community-building events during and beyond the school day;Share expertise, enthusiasm, and leadership in co-curricular activities that enrich student learning and strengthen school culture;Demonstrate strong, research-informed pedagogical practice in literacy and numeracy across the primary years;Demonstrate a shared commitment to the school’s mission and vision, and work collaboratively to support the school’s long-term growth and sustainability. Additional Responsibilities:Contribute to the school’s Co-Curricular and/or Athletic offerings two out of three terms.
